__________________________________________________________

...S T E V E ' S....3 - M I N U T E....C O A C H I N G
Steve Straus - Coach Subscribers: 1600+ Readers: 3200+ 25MAY11
__________________________________________________________

Today's Topic - DISTINCTION: Choose vs. Chase
(Distinctions are subtleties of language that, when gotten,
cause a shift in a belief, behavior, value or attitude.)

[While this Distinction has particular application to
sales and sales people, it has application for all types
of relationships.]

Imagine that you are selling a product or service and
there are very few prospects for your offering. Because
of this scarcity of potential buyers you market, send
out sales literature in a variety of forms, initiate cold
calls, track down suspects, and try to win over
prospects into becoming customers. Whew. Tiring.
This is what chasing is about.

Now imagine that, for several reasons, every morning
there is a line at your door of people eager to buy
what you're selling. (Picture a hot new restaurant or
a sports team in the playoffs.) You realize that
because of this abundant demand you can't take on
all of the business, you've got to say no to some of
them. So you use a filter to sort out the best ones.
Your filtering criteria -- profitability, ease, whether
you like them, their ability to refer, etc. -- assists you
in having the best potential buyers float to the top.
Those you let buy from you. This is what choosing
is all about.

Few people in sales are clear that being in the
choosing business is possible for them. They just
assume that they have to chase. They think they
have to sell to people instead of having people buy
from them. When you're the purchaser which do
you prefer, to be sold at or assisted to buy from?
Buy from, of course.

Why not study your market to find out what they
are really passionate to buy, what will help them
solve their problems or give them the opportunity
of a lifetime? Find out what they want.

Coaching Point: How much energy are you spending
being a better chaser? Could you use some of it
setting yourself up to be a chooser?

YOU ARE FREE TO FORWARD THIS.

A couple of years back I read a book by Ester and Jerry Hicks called Ask and It Is Given: Learning to Manifest Your Desires.

Actually, I’m going to take a step back because the story behind me getting this book is so interesting and I love to tell it.

A few years back, I was taking some courses through Peak Potentials Training. I highly recommend their courses. One of the courses in particular is called The Enlightened Warrior Training Camp. It’s a course on how to “tap into your higher self and unleash your full capacity for success and happiness”. I highly recommend.

The sister camp to Warrior is called The Wizard Training Camp which is all about manifesting. I really wanted to take the course along with my fellow Warriors with whom I had become very close. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to at the time. However, during any course that you take with Peak Potentials, they provide a sheet of affirmations that I love reading out loud every morning. It keeps you in the groove. So I asked my fellow warriors if they would provide me with the list when they got back. The thing is, we are sworn during these camps not to divulge any information to others in order for the new people taking the camps to have a full experience when they do take the camp.

I knew this but was not satisfied with this answer. I wanted to become a Wizard without delay. So the next morning I woke up absolutely determined to become a Wizard, with or without the affirmations or the courses, and I stated it out loud.

That evening I came home to a FedEx box that was delivered to my front door. It was from my friend Anneloes in Holland. Inside the box was a copy of Ask and It Is Given! No word of a lie and also my friend had no idea about my desire. She just sent me the book because she thought I would like it and I just happen to get it on the same day that I stated I would become a Wizard no matter what! It was my most amazing experience of manifesting so far!

This book is so amazing. It spoke to me like no other book had done before. It answered some questions that I had been asking for a long time.

It also has some great exercises that teach you about manifesting, because it’s all a state of mind. One of these exercises is the $1000/day exercise. What you do is, on paper, you deposit $1000 into your account. Then you have to spend that $1000 in the same day, on whatever you want. The only thing you shouldn’t use this money for is paying bills because what you focus on is what you get. Then, every day after you increase the amount that you have to spend by $1000. So that means the next day you spend $2000 and the day after $3000 and so on. When you get to a year, you have to spend $365,000 in a day!

Now you might think that this is easy. Well at least that is what I thought at first. And to tell you the truth, at first it was easy. But then I got to about $16,000 and it started getting hard. It got a little easier at the low 20′s because I started buying cars but then you run out of cars that you want.

I’ve been doing this for a year and a half and tomorrow is the day that I reach $500,000!

Obviously, I love this exercise and I recommend you give it a try. You might not last as long as I have but it will open your eyes to possibilities!

Enjoy!

Peace and love,

Don’t you just hate that saying. I used to.

I used to go out with a guy that used to say that to me all the time. I hated it because it was during a really difficult time in my life. Actually, the difficult time was because of him. He was a crack addict and he put me through hell, trying to save his ass only to have him turn around and steal money and practically everything I own. It used to burn me up inside when he would say “It’s all good” because I thought – no way this is good, it hurts way to much and I hate it… I think he used to say it as a way to fight against the feelings of being defeated or used and even worse.

I don’t think at the time that he really new the most profound meaning of that sentence and I certainly didn’t.

Thank GOD/The Universe, that I find myself in such a peaceful time in my life, many years later. I can look back, with wisdom and be grateful for the most difficult time in my life. In fact I can look back at all the hardships, all the pain and suffering, and I am completely grateful for my experiences because without the experiences that I’ve had in the past, the good as well as the bad, I wouldn’t be who I am today, and I love who I am.

It finally dawn on me the profound meaning of this sentence. It’s all good! It’s all good because no matter what, good or bad, I will love who I am. I have unconditional love for myself.

Actually I’ve discovered even more. I’ve learned and discovered that the only way to manifest something in your life is to dream about it. That’s the first step; to visualize it. The reason most of us can’t get past this part is that we are stuck in old habits. They say we have over 90,000 thoughts a day, which is astounding, but the scary part is that 90-95% of them are the same thoughts we had yesterday. We get stuck in paterns, or behaviors, otherwise known as habits. The only way to get beyond these habits is to ba aware of them and to practice new ones and allow for the new ones to take hold.

Sometimes, we want something new in our lives; money for example. The problem is that in order to have more money, we need to change because if we stay the same we’ll continue getting the same results, which is less money. And it’s really difficult to change because habits are incestuous, for a good reason. Our habits allow us to do many things at the same time because once it’s a habit then you don’t have to think about it any more.

Changing who we are may prove to be difficult. You might be presented with something that you either don’t like or don’t want to do. BUT if you were the person that you need to be in order to get what you want to get then you would love to do what you don’t presently like to do.

So next time you get presented with the “opportunity” to do something you don’t like to do (BUT – it will get you to where you want to be), remember that this is an opportunity and that one day you will look back, and because you love yourself unconditionally, you will be grateful for the opportunity and you will see that “It’s all good!” So rather than waiting for sime time in the future to remind yourself that “it’s all good”, why not say it now, because you know you’ll be saying it then and you may as well enjoy the time you’re in now. IT’S ALL GOOD!!!

Love Peace Love,
Elle
