At this time of the year, I pick a theme for the coming year.  My theme for 2011 was “It’s happening!“, and indeed a lot of things happened.  Most notably, I moved to Los Angeles to be with my husband!  Yay!

My theme colors the year with a mantra that guides me and inspires me.  This year especially, I noticed that some of you reminded me, on several occations, that “It’s happening!”   I can’t begin to describe how helpful that was.

My theme for 2012 is “Abundance“.  Make sure you tell me yours so that we remind each other when the time comes.  :-)  I look forward to hearing what your theme is!

Throughout the holiday season and in 2012 remember that you make your dreams come true!  I wish you health, wealth, love, peace and happiness.

First thing first, how is your theme manifesting this year?  I’d love to hear about it.

My  theme,”It’s Happening!“, has been manifesting in a few, sometimes surprising, ways and I’m sure there are a few more ways that I haven’t even noticed yet only because they’re happening right now.  So have faith that your theme is manifesting itself in the most glorious of ways and at the end of the year we can look back together  and be grateful for all the wonderful things that have come our way.  :)

But there is one thing that I do want to tell you about.  I had one of my best “It’s Happening!”‘s  just a few days ago!  (It was a HUGE step for me!)

As you may already know, I’ve been working on a short film project for the past 2 years.  This is something that is very close to my heart and I’ve been working very hard at developing the script and getting the story just right.

BOY is about an 8 year old boy who, in spite of having to struggle through war and the wrath of a heartless soldier, gains the insight to lead the world to peace.  It’s a story that could potentially touch millions of people and perhaps inspire us to take that monumental step towards peace.  So that’s why it’s taken me so long to get the story just right?

But just right it is and this project is ready for the next step (that huge “It’s Happening!” step that I just took a few days ago).

You see, the story of BOY is now ready for production.  Production is a very complex machine that involves a lot of talent, equipment and materials.  This is something I definitely can’t do alone.  I need a lot of help.

… But more importantly I need your help.

The HUGE step that I took a few days ago is I began my campaign to raise the funds to produce Boy.  As you can imagine, it requires a lot of resources to get production machine going and to take care and of all of the talented people.

So you might be thinking that my request is a financial one. Well, you’re partially right and here’s why I say that.  I know what it’s like to be asked for money.  I also know what it’s like to not be in a position to give money.  So, my request for help is not just financial.

Ever since I came back to Ottawa, and even before then, I had been thinking about my friend Marc.  I’m not sure why.

Then this past weekend I was going through some old papers I had stored away at my parents place and I came across his parents address.  So I looked them up and they were still living in the same place.  I gave them a call and spoke to his father and he told me that Marc had passed away 6 years ago.

It’s such a shock to find out that someone I was really close to at one time in my life is now gone.   I’m not sure why I wanted to connect with him again but it’s very sad and frustrating not to be able to.  I also feel guilty that I didn’t do it sooner.  In fact, quite a few years ago he had contacted me and we visited for a few minutes.  It was a time in my life when I was struggling to figure out my identity and unfortunately I wasn’t very present to him and afterwords I didn’t keep in touch.

I regret not being able to be a better me at the time and I figured out last night that I have to be the best me I can be at all times and to really make an effort to enjoy every moment that I have.  Just like the saying goes, enjoy every moment as if it were your last.

Rest in peace Marc and I truly wish, no… I know that you are at peace now.

 This time it turned out to be Mahjong Solitaire.  I’ve played this game a numerous amount of times and so I know a few things about myself when it comes to this game.

I know I can win the game no matter what.  Sometimes it’s easy and sometimes it requires a lot of focus.  So I choose my battles.  Sometimes I’m into the challenge and sometimes I’m not.  

See, sometimes I just want a diversion.  Something to keep me occupied while I wait.  Something mindless.  Sometimes I like and even love the challenge of a difficult game because I know there’s a way to solve this particular game, I just have to keep on trying until I figure it out.  I never came across a game that was very difficult and if I was in the mood to solve it no matter what, that I couldn’t solve it.

So, as I was playing last night, DING – a light goes off with the sound of a bell.  It was the dryer.  No seriously though… actually I was also doing some laundry so I wonder if that has anything to do with this referrence, actually, I’m still doing laundry as we speak so that reference is not so far fetched… ANYWAY!!!

So I had an epiphany.  I thought, life is like this.  Anything is like this.  My project Boy is like this.

A couple of posts ago I mentioned that I’m developing a short film called Boy which is the most significant film of the 21st Century.  I’ve created a masive challenge for myself.  I have visions of this film reaching a world wide audience of 40 million and then 1 billion and to actually cause a shift in concsiousness.

I’m currently in between the writing stage and pre-production of Boy and sometimes, as is quite common during these times, you question whether it is ready yet to move onto the next stage.  Because making a movie requires enormous about of man-power and finances, it is quite understandable that there is often hesitation.

Aside from this, I always felt that I had something significant to add to the world and I don’t want to make this movie so that it fails.  I want it to succeed!  So, is the script there yet?  Is this the script of a movie that is going to succeed?

And then it hit me.   I thought, this is like my game of Mahjong Solitaire.  I know I will win the game and this is one of those times when I’m in the mood to win and I’m up for the challenge.  And so I just need to let go of all of the constraints and keep on developing and creating this movie like I know I’m going to succeed until I do succeed.

No matter what, my message will get out there with Boy and I will make a significant contribution to the world!  Yay!

It’s about triumph.

It’s about peace… on a global scale.

It’s about the joy, bliss and innocence of childhood smashing into the  bitterness, arrogance and ignorance of adulthood and uncovering a world, an awakening of peace, harmony and wisdom.

It’s about creating a shift in global consciousness.

1. Presently editing the webseries Head Space. I’m completing the fourth episode and the third is going to be released shortly. Check it out at www.headspacetheseries.com.
2. Working on the script for a short I want to shoot before winter. It’s called Boy and it’s about, you got it, an 8 year old boy who struggles to survive and make sense of the attrocities of war. Yep, it’s very intense.
3. I’m working on the proposal for a fiction called “How I got my J.A. Bod”. J.A. = Jennifer Anniston. It’s really funny and enlightning all at once. It’s like a Kung Fu meets Bridget Jones.
4. I’m also in the midst of completing an online video course on how to work with any type of director and be successful. Very excited about it.
